Janet Chipman of Jacksonville has received First National Bank of Arenzville’s Blue Diamond Community Service Award for 2021 for her volunteer work in the community and dedication to education.

She graduated from Triopia High School, Illinois College and the University of Illinois Springfield, receiving a master’s degree in educational leadership. Chipman has taught at Triopia, North Jacksonville Elementary and Jacksonville Middle School. She now teaches part-time at Routt Catholic High School. 

She is active in the Jacksonville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Art Association of Jacksonville and is a former member of the Jacksonville Symphony Board and the IC Alumni Association. She is a member of the Ladies Education Society, is on the board of the David A. Smith House, a member of The Wednesday Class and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Chipman and her husband, Bob Chipman, are co-chairs of the Illinois College Society.

“Janet is a force in the west-central Illinois education community and a staunch supporter of Jacksonville,” First National Bank of Arenzville President Kai Schnitker said.
